金鱼的最佳水温在20~28度左右。换水期间的温差不能超过4度。当水温超过30度时，需要混合比鱼缸水温低10度的水，以便及时冷却，否则它会停止进食或生长。当水温低于10度时，也会出现同样的情况。需要更换鱼缸中1/3的水，然后将温差不超过4度的水倒入鱼缸中调节温度

虽然金鱼能够快速适应水温，能够耐受高温和低温，但这并不意味着金鱼能够耐受较大的温差，尤其是幼金鱼。一般金鱼孵化期昼夜温差不应超过3度，而幼虫期昼夜温差不得超过5度，成年期昼夜温差不宜超过7度
